NORMAL BODY TEMPERATURE IS BETWEEN 100.8 & 105 F. ( The fennec lets its body temperature rise to 105.6˚F before beginning to sweat, reducing water loss). Here is a link that describes Feline Panleukopenia (Distemper) http://www.sniksnak.com/cathealth/distemper.html Here is a link that describes (CPV) Canine Parvo Virus. Vaccination is not with out some risk. ANY vaccination in ANY species may invoke a reaction. Keep this in mind. At this time, we can't get the killed virus.... There are no vaccines made just for the fennec fox.
This is what has been recommended to me. Kits Get 1/2 ml doses of both the Galaxy Pv, Parvo (modified live virus) and Galaxy D distemper (modified live virus), give only 1 vaccine at a time, with intervals between the shots. ALSO: PureVax Ferret manufacturer: Merial Distemper Vaccine. Live Canarypox Vector
There is only one brand rabies vaccine that should be used on the fennec fox. It can also be used on ferrets. This is IMRAB 3 rabies from Merial.
